
Maintenance Manager
Pay: $70,000-$80,000 with a GREAT benefit package!
Job Summary (Role in organization):
The position is critical in assisting the Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority in meeting our mission of mobility. The position is responsible to plan and direct the overall maintenance operations and mechanical safety of every vehicle in SRTA's fleet and for all SRTA contracted maintenance services. Directs and implements maintenance strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of the Maintenance Program and focuses on safety, coordinated and quality service, efficiency, and implementation/use of technology. Directs and builds the Authority's employment image by practicing good employee relations and ensuring policies/ procedures are documented, comply with CBA and local, state, and federal laws and regulations, and are enforced consistently. Embraces and furthers the diversity statement and AAP goals.
Key/Reporting Relationship/Direct Reports:
This position reports to the Director of Maintenance. This position receives broad guidelines and sets priorities for self and staff. The Maintenance Supervisor reports to this position.
Some of the Essential knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:
- Minimum of an Associate's degree or graduate of a trade school with training in heavy-duty fleet vehicle maintenance; Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years progressive experience in the direct supervision of a diverse fleet maintenance workforce.
- Pennsylvania inspection mechanic certification.
- Strong computer and Microsoft applications software proficiency.
- Ability to analyze and understand the nature of the business; how initiatives will impact the strategic plan, financial resources, and human resources.
- Ability to visualize creative initiatives and make decisions to ensure optimal resource use, minimize total costs, and maximize value to the customer.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of changing situations in a timely manner.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, to be detail oriented, organized, accurate, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to be self-motivated and results oriented to accomplish objectives on schedule.
- Ability to travel for meetings, divisional offices, training purposes or other organizational needs with occasional overnight requirements.
- Must meet hiring qualifications of an acceptable driving record and background verification in accordance with SRTA standards.
- Must have regular attendance and punctuality.
Certificates and Licenses Required:
- Must possess valid class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement and air brake restriction lifted operator's license that is not under suspension or revocation, and possess current automobile insurance coverage.
- Pennsylvania inspection mechanic certification.
- Must possess/obtain a valid DOT medical card.
- This is a safety sensitive position subject to US DOT Drug and Alcohol pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion and return to duty testing.
