Tri County Community Action (TCCA) will host the 14th annual Great Harrisburg Litter Cleanup on Saturday, April 25 from 8 to 11 a.m.
The event brings together volunteers to collect trash and tires in and around three Harrisburg neighborhoods:
At last year’s cleanup, more than 400 volunteers collected 6.4 tons of trash and tires.
“The Great Harrisburg Litter Cleanup is a unique opportunity to come together as a community to help beautify our city,” said Molly Lindquist, community development director at TCCA. “We invite individuals, families and groups to join us for this fun, rewarding event.”
Volunteer roles include trash collectors, truck drivers, dumpster monitors and site coordinators. Litter pickers, trash bags, gloves, snacks and water will be provided.
To register as an individual or a group, visit cactricounty.org/ghlc.
Free electronics recycling will also be available at all three sites and is open to everyone.
Community partners and sponsors for the Great Harrisburg Litter Cleanup include Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority, Dauphin County Conservation District, Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District, Capital Region Water, The City of Harrisburg, Dauphin County Dept. of Solid Waste and Recycling, Waste Management, BioOne, Mahantango Enterprises, Arm Group Enterprises, and PA Cleanways/Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful.
