Dr. Kimeka Campbell's talk, "Creating Belonging and Empowering Voices," reveals how building community and utilizing advocacy enhances career and societal growth. Through her work with YPOC and as a talk show host, she offers strategies for meaningful engagement and change, blending professional development with community betterment.

Meet the Speaker!

Dr. Kimeka Campbell
Healthcare Consultant Activist | Talk Show Host

Dr. Kimeka is a Rising Healthcare Leader, Talk Show Host, and Community Activist in Central PA. She is also a dynamic and responsive community leader in Harrisburg City. She’s been working behind the scenes to strengthen and amplify the positive reach and impact of Black voices in Harrisburg since 2015.Professionally, Dr. Kimeka currently serves as a Healthcare Operations Advisor for a large Hospital System in the US. Formerly, Dr. Kimeka served as the Director, Revenue Cycle—Billing & Utilization with Hamilton Health Center, a multicultural, multilingual, family-friendly, community health care center in Harrisburg, Pa providing Medical, Dental, and Behavioral primary health care services to individuals, regardless of their income status. In addition, she leads with her heart in the Harrisburg community. She is the Co-Founder of Young Professionals of Color--Greater Harrisburg with Basir Vincent, her husband. This organization creates community for the Black and Brown professional collective in the Greater Harrisburg, PA area, empowering professionals of color to identify what they need to thrive within the community. YPOC provides quarterly leadership workshops, social spaces to create community, networking opportunities for Black and Brown collectives, and social service projects like the Adopt a Classroom program that fundraises to provide teachers with grants. The YPOC has been serving the community for the last six years! Additionally, Dr. Campbell became a talk show host in February 2021! In collaboration with OpenStage the Black NewsBeat was born! The Black NewsBeat explores the life and community of Harrisburg and its expressions in the black and brown community. Showcasing the poetry, music and activism of the city, BNB shows the hidden gems of the capital region and how much sits just under the surface of the city. Dr. Campbell and a myriad of special guests talk about the civic, creative, and cultural pieces that shape Harrisburg and the people who live there.
