About the Venue!

Join us for the October Coffee & Connections at the historic McCormick Riverfront Library, located at the corner of Front and Walnut Streets. Established in 1889 as The Harrisburg Public Library, this iconic building has served the community for over a century. The current structure, opened to the public on January 1, 1914, boasts more than 13,000 square feet of public space and houses 36,000 volumes.

Our event will take place in the T. Morris Chester Welcome Center, a space dedicated to the memory of Harrisburg’s own T. Morris Chester, the nation’s first Black war correspondent. This Center is a hub for community engagement, offering a welcoming environment and serving as a portal to the rich histories of T. Morris Chester, Harrisburg’s Old Eighth Ward, and other local stories. It’s the perfect venue to foster connections and conversations that inspire unity, peace, and justice.
