Architectural Designer
Scenic Ridge Company welcomes qualified candidates to apply for the position of Architectural Designer. As part of the design team you will be involved in the design of a wide array of commercial and industrial buildings. Essential Duties: Under the supervision of the Principal Architect, you will work in collaboration with the Design-Build Team and the Client to design buildings that meet all project performance requirements. Daily responsibilities will include the following. • Meeting with clients • Gather and compile building programming information, design requirements and code information for new constructions, alterations and/or repairs. • Evaluate site conditions and constraints for building projects. • Review design requirements and determine best design options for building projects. • Building Code Analysis • Support, train and guide drafters involved in the preparation of construction documents, drawings and presentation material. • Participate in team meetings to coordinate design options and ideas. • Use CAD tools effectively to prepare design and construction drawings including 3D models. • Modify and update designs based on review comments from the Design-Build Team. • Maintain all documentation related to architectural design throughout the design and construction phases of the project. • Prepare design cost estimates and schedules. • Coordinate shop drawings with construction documents to verify compliance with the design intent. • Assist in the selection of building systems and materials appropriate for the project performance requirements. • Update existing design techniques with respect to latest design trends. • Provide project status updates to management on regular basis. • Manage and execute multiple design assignments in a timely manner. Qualifications • 5 year Bachelors or Masters Degree from an institution with a professional degree program accredited by the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB) • Registered in Pennsylvania or capable of obtaining registration. • Proficient with AutoCad and/or Revit • Design ability • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Proficient in client sales. Successful applicant will be required to work 8-10 hours in an office environment and would be based on a 40+ hour work week. This position is expected to be filled within the next 2 to 3 weeks.
