About the Role

The Perry County Economic Development Authority (PCEDA) is seeking a passionate and community-driven Main Street Coordinator to support a county-wide downtown revitalization effort. This role plays a key part in our initiative to strengthen the local economies and enhance the visual identity of Perry County’s nine boroughs. A central focus of this initiative is to manage the County’s Main Street Regional designation through the Keystone Communities Program, opening doors to significant investment and funding opportunities.

As Main Street Coordinator, you will collaborate with local stakeholders, borough councils, business owners, and community groups to implement strategic plans tailored to each borough. You’ll be the connection between PCEDA, community committees, the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) and the Pennsylvania Downtown Center.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate revitalization efforts in each of Perry County’s 9 boroughs.
  • Assist the designated PCEDA representative with the administration of the Main Street program and DCED reporting.
  • Engage with community stakeholders, elected officials, and businesses to promote project goals.
  • Organize and support local events and business promotions.
  • Maintain and grow a public-facing presence for the initiative through social media and outreach.
  • Develop and manage databases to track project progress.
  • Attend community meetings, stakeholder sessions, and training events as needed.
  • Support consistent communication between PCEDA, borough committees, and state agencies.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree and/or experience in community development, planning, marketing, public administration, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects independently and maintain effective community relationships.
  • Experience with event coordination, grant writing, or economic development is a plus.
  • Proficient with standard office software; social media and database management a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Main Street Approach and Perry County's Comprehensive Plan is helpful.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
  • Availability for occasional evening meetings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for local community development.
