LNP Media Group, a subsidiary of WITF, is seeking freelance correspondents in photography, news, and sports. This is a great opportunity for individuals who have an interest in local government and current events, local sports including high school and college, or enjoys capture pictures of a variety of events, sports, or portrait-type photos.

Correspondents are classified as independent contractors who will typically attend events in evenings and work on tight deadlines. They must also be able to provide unbiased, fact-based writing. 

In addition, successful freelancer writers will:

• Possess excellent writing skills, interpersonal communication skills and ability to report news fairly and accurately on deadline.
• Must have good grasp of AP style.
• Ensure that their coverage reflects the diversity of cultures in Lancaster County.
• Exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients.
• Have a bachelor’s degree and news writing experience at a daily or weekly newspaper; reporters with professional experience will receive priority, but those with strong college portfolios will be considered.
• Live within a 30-minute drive of their coverage area.

Freelance photographers will:

• Possess excellent photography, writing and interpersonal communication skills. 
• Ability to report news fairly and accurately on deadline. 
• Capability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with excellent time-management skills.
• Exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients.
• Previous photojournalism experience at a daily or weekly newspaper preferred; photographers with professional experience will receive priority, but those with strong portfolios will be considered.
• Opportunities are most often available in Lancaster County, but occasionally extend to Lebanon, Hershey and York counties as well.
• Possess an eye for detail and awareness of cultural sensitivities to make photo selections that are both accurate and tasteful and reflect the diversity in our region.
• Knowledge of AP style a plus.
• Experience recording and editing video a plus.
