Obituary Coordinator
We are seeking a meticulous and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Obituary Coordinator. In this vital role, you will be responsible for coordinating, processing, and proofreading obituary notices, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and handled with the utmost care. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
This part-time, remote position includes regular hours on Tuesdays and Fridays (3:00–5:30 PM), Saturdays (11:00 AM–5:30 PM), and Sundays (2:00–5:30 PM), with additional hours during the week for vacation coverage and some holidays as needed. 15-20 hours per week, $28/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage shared email and voicemail inboxes, responding promptly to obituary inquiries.
- Process and provide customer support for obituary submissions, working directly with funeral homes and private parties.
- Coordinate and order obituaries, ensuring accuracy in editing, proofing, and layout preparation.
- Work with prepress teams for photo edits and necessary adjustments.
- Secure approvals for obituary content and ensure timely publication.
- Assist in resolving classified prepress, layout, and toning issues related to obituaries.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including the Classified Supervisor and Client Solutions Lead, to address any classified or layout concerns.
- Contribute process improvement ideas to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
While the role is remote, the candidate must live in Pennsylvania.
