We are looking for an experienced full-time Operations Manager/CDL Class A Driver to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (CPFB) warehouse operations, including storage, general maintenance, and cleanliness of the warehouse and equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant facility while managing inventory through computer software, handling documentation, preparing and submitting departmental budgets, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
As part of the management team dedicated to addressing food insecurity, the Operations Manager/CDL Class A Driver is also responsible for delivering food to partner agencies and picking up donations from donors. This position builds and maintains collaborative relationships with internal coworkers, external member agencies, donors, and suppliers. Additionally, the Operations Manager/CDL Class A Driver ensures compliance with CPFB procedures and regulations related to sanitation, storage, USDA guidelines, and safety. This role requires adherence to all U.S. Department of Transportation and Safety regulations. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts as needed.

Job Accountabilities:
•Promote safety and productivity guidelines to reinforce and recognize good work habits, identify training needs, or initiate corrective action for warehouse team members.
•Ensure regulatory compliance in accordance with Feeding America, OSHA, and USDA standards.
•Participate in all site inspections conducted by various regulatory authorities and make appropriate corrections.
•Manage vendor contracts for facility repairs, maintenance, and cleaning services.
•Conduct routine facility inspections and address any deficiencies promptly.
•Supervise and coordinate the repair and maintenance of all CPFB’s trailers, trucks and other CPFB owned vehicles.
•Collaborate with the Inventory Control Manager on all inventory control activities to include daily cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
•Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the Inventory Control Manager.
•Implement and maintain logistics software and tracking systems to enhance visibility and reporting.
•Ability to deliver, pick up, and unload items as assigned and abide by all weight restrictions of various vehicles.
•Assist in the coordination of food deliveries to agencies, including developing and maintaining the daily, weekly, and monthly delivery schedules.
•Coordinate food deliveries to agencies by assuring the correct number of trucks and drivers are assigned to haul the poundage to be delivered and coordinate appropriate backhauls to optimize operating efficiency.
•Maintain a current listing of the Fresh Express site information for delivery purposes and coordinate the annual delivery calendar with Agency Services, and the Senior Programs Manager regarding the Commodity Supplemental Food Program boxes.
•Adhere to the CPFB regulation of no mobile phone use while operating an organizational vehicle. If the CDL driver needs to use a mobile phone, they must pull off to a safe location to make or respond to requests, texts, or emails unless an appropriate Bluetooth or similar device is being utilized for mobile calls.
•Maintain proper fuel, DEF, and fluids as necessary to operate the vehicle safely. Operate all vehicles in a safe manner and in compliance with all U.S. Department of Transportation requirements, including maintaining appropriate load securement with each delivery and backhaul. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

•In instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency, CPFB is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all of its employees may be called into perform regular or emergent duties.

Education and Experience:
Education:
•A high school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
•5 years management experience with logistics coordination and fleet management. Knowledge of safety regulations related to transportation and warehouse operations.
•Minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
•Combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge and skills for the position.
•Prior experience working with volunteers.

•Knowledge of organization’s computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, department-specific software systems, telecommunications, and internet applications.

Physical Requirements or Licenses:
•A valid commercial driver’s license with history of a good and safe driving record and U.S. Department of Transportation medical card with the proven ability to drive.
•Must have a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A Class A CDL permits you to operate any combination of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more. It also allows you to haul a trailer that weighs more than 10,000 pounds.
•Must be able to maintain a U.S. Department of Transportation physical.
•Pre-employment drug screening and post-accident drug screening.
•Ability to drive in traffic, and throughout the community.
•Must be able to use an electric pallet jack and forklift and become certified if not currently.
•Conditions may include working outside in inclement weather, working closely with others, working alone, and working protracted or irregular hours.
•Up to 2/3 of the time: walk, sit, squat, bend and twist, reach at various heights above and below shoulder level.
