Part-Time Sports Coordinator – Harrisburg Young Professionals
Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP) is seeking a dynamic and organized Part-Time Sports Coordinator to oversee our intramural sports leagues. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our sports programs, fostering a fun and competitive environment, and enhancing the overall experience for our members.

Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management:
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of HYP’s intramural sports leagues.
- Develop and manage league schedules, including regular season games, playoffs, and championship events.
- Oversee the volunteer Sports Committee
- Ensure all games are adequately staffed with referees, scorekeepers, and other necessary personnel.
- Coordinate the registration process for participants, including managing online registration systems.
- Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for league participants, responding to inquiries and resolving issues.
- Communicate league schedules, standings, weather delays, and updates to participants in a timely and effective manner.
- Collaborate with HYP’s marketing team to promote leagues, recruit participants, and highlight key events.
- Logistics and Operations:
- Secure and manage relationships with venues, ensuring facilities are available and in good condition for games.
- Oversee the maintenance and inventory of sports equipment and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Community Engagement:
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages sportsmanship and camaraderie among participants.
- Engage with the HYP community to gather feedback and continuously improve the sports program.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sports management, recreation, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with HYP’s mission and a passion for community engagement.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by league schedules.
Working Conditions:
- This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 10 hours per week.
- The role may involve physical activity, including setting up, transporting, and taking down sports equipment.
