We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Part-Time & Substitute Adult Education & ESL Teachers to join our team and support adult learners in achieving their educational and career goals.
Job Summary:
The Part-Time & Substitute Adult Education & ESL Teacher will provide instruction in Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED preparation, and English as a Second Language (ESL) for adult learners. This position requires flexibility, strong instructional skills, and a commitment to helping adult students succeed in their personal and professional lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, learner-centered lessons in ABE, GED, and/or ESL programs.
- Assess students’ skills and progress, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including technology, to enhance learning.
- Provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth and confidence.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and track student progress.
- Collaborate with program staff to align instruction with educational and workforce development goals.
- Substitute as needed for regular instructors in ABE, GED, or ESL classes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, English, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience teaching adult learners, ESL, GED, or ABE preferred.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional strategies.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital learning tools.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt instruction to meet individual needs.
- PA Adult Education Certification or willingness to obtain is a plus.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish, Arabic, etc.) are a plus but not required.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Flexible, part-time schedule with morning, afternoon, and/or evening classes available.
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications.
