ProAVL Project Manager

Pierson seeks a skilled ProAVL project manager for our growing ProAVL Services department. Interviews will begin as soon as qualified candidates are identified.

Salary/Wages
$55,000-$75,000, negotiable + bonus potential. 


Job Summary
The Project Manager, ProAVL Services, plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of multiple projects concurrently with project life cycles that range from a week to several months in duration. They work collaboratively with clients and Pierson team members to develop project tasks and objectives, set project timelines, manage change, and control scope.


The Project Manager provides leadership to project teams to achieve the project goals and objectives within defined time frames and budget parameters. 


The Project Manager has primary responsibility for the training and professional development of the ProAVL Services team, along with assisting Human Resources (HR) in hiring and recruiting, and assisting with developing and updating job descriptions.

  • Successfully plan and execute assigned projects within defined time frames and budget parameters.
  • Assess, maintain, and develop all required processes for the delivery of Implementation Services.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and Pierson team members in a clear, concise manner through employing excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work closely with Pierson Sales team members to understand customer requirements for projects.
    Work closely with customers to develop each project plan, including determining time frames, funding limitations, and technical requirements for the successful completion of each project within defined time frames and budget parameters.
  • Determine the skills and required number of installers needed for each project phase and assign project personnel.
  • Confer with Pierson team leaders and corresponding project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope.
  • Review status reports and modified schedules or plans prepared by project team members. 
  • Coordinate with other Pierson team members to obtain the necessary assistance to complete administrative tasks.
  • Maintain sufficient installation supplies. 
  • Maintain project documentation in accordance with ProAVL Department standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare project reports for management, clients, and others per ProAVL Department standard operating procedures.
  • Identify ProAVL Services training requirements and creates, maintains, updates, communicates, and delivers training programs and materials.
  • Assist HR with developing and updating ProAVL Services job descriptions.
  • Deliver full-cycle performance management for all direct reports. This includes, but is not limited to, approving timesheets, PTO requests, documenting incidents and violations, and communicating disciplinary actions, as well as completing performance improvement plans and yearly employee performance reviews. It is the responsibility of the Project Manager to ensure all direct reports are maintaining their administrative tasks including employee performance reviews and expense reporting per ProAVL Department standard operating procedures. 
  • Organize work or training for assigned team members when not deployed on projects.
  • Make onsite visits when necessary to evaluate the team's performance or coordinate complex project details.

  • Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills, otherwise proficient with general computer and Microsoft systems and applications, including Word and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking experience: Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; Ability to manage a variety of abstract and concrete variables; and Apply critical thinking to resolve conflicting situations.
  • Demonstrated math ability: Possess strong data management skills; Ability to determine pricing and profitability for proposed projects; and Ability to forecast revenue, profitability, margins, and bill rates and complete profit and loss analyses.

Required Education and Experience
The following requirements are job-related and consistent with business necessity.

  • Two-years’ experience with all essential functions and competencies.
  • Class C (passenger vehicle) driver’s license with a clean driving record (no more than two moving violations and/or chargeable accidents within the past year).
  • AVIXA CTS Certification within one year of hire. 

Preferred Education and Experience
The following requirements are job-related and consistent with business necessity.

  • At least three years’ ProAVL installation experience.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Manager Professional Certification (PMP).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Upon offer of employment, selected candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test, credit check and Federal Criminal History, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record, Motor Vehicle Record, and Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Certification background checks at Pierson’s expense.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a salaried, overtime-exempt position. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an unpaid one-hour lunch. The Project Manager is expected to work as many hours as needed.


Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has supervisory responsibilities for ProAVL installation and delivery team members and team leads.


Travel
Up to 20% of work time. Travel is primarily local during the business day, if needed, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Travel in a personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the IRS mileage rate if a company vehicle is not available.


Reports To
This position reports to the Senior Project Manager, AVL Services.
