Belco Community Credit Union Invites the Community to Support Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region’s Participation in the Partnership for Better Health’s “Match Madness” Campaign

Belco Community Credit Union contributes $5,000 to BBBS of the Capital Region’s Campaign

March 8, 2024 – Belco Community Credit Union partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region (BBBSCR) for the second year in a row in support of the nonprofit’s participation in the March 1-31 “Match Madness” campaign.

“At Belco, part of our mission is to give back to the communities we serve,” said Paul Perini III, Belco’s Senior Vice President of Retail. “Our continued support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region allows us to make a positive impact on the lives of local youth. We are proud to once again provide matching funds that triple individual donations during the Match Madness campaign to change even more lives for the better.”

BBBSCR is one of 58 nonprofit organizations participating in Match Madness, the Partnership for Better Health’s matching gift campaign. The purpose of Match Madness is to provide organizations with a special spring fundraising opportunity during the month of March 2024.

The Partnership for Better Health, Josiah W. and Bessie H. Kline Foundation, WellSpan Health, M&T Bank, and Penn State Health and Highmark are offering $150,000 in funds that will be matched by gifts that individual donors make. Each participating nonprofit will receive a proportion of the match fund, based upon what they raise.

The first $1,500 in gifts made to BBBSCR will be matched dollar for dollar through the Match Madness campaign funds.

“With the $5,000 in matching funds generously donated by Belco, it’s a unique opportunity for individuals to triple the value of your gift, and triple your impact,” says BBBSCR CEO & President Amy Rote. “Over the years Belco has consistently invested in our mission and the youth and families we serve. We are grateful to Belco for always believing in us.”

100% of charitable contributions made to BBBBSCR through the Match Madness campaign will be passed directly on to the organization. The Partnership receives no revenue from the match campaign. All contributions must be received/post marked by March 31, 2024. Donations may be made online or via check payable to Partnership for Better Health. Cash gifts are not accepted for this campaign.
