Berry Bash Brings Bold New Spin on Fundraising to Downtown Harrisburg

Costumes, cocktails, and a cause collide Saturday, Oct. 25 at Strawberry Square

HARRISBURG, PA [Aug. 5, 2025] - Move over, black-tie banquets. This fall, Harrisburg gets a new signature party with a purpose. Introducing Berry Bash, a one-night-only celebration combining high-energy entertainment, Halloween fun, and community impact — all in the heart of downtown.

The event takes place Saturday, Oct. 25, from 7-10 p.m. at Strawberry Square, with proceeds supporting the 100% volunteer-run Harrisburg River Rescue & Emergency Services.

Produced by Sara Bozich and Harristown Enterprises, the Berry Bash reimagines the iconic Strawberry Ball of the late '90s and early 2000s — blending nostalgia with fresh flair. The theme? "Dress up or dress up" – guests are encouraged to wear cocktail attire, Halloween costumes, or a creative mix of both. Prizes will be awarded for standout looks.

“We’ve all been to our fair share of snoozy fundraising events. Berry Bash is different — it’s bold, it’s stylish, and most of all, it’s fun,” said Sara Bozich, event creator and longtime Harrisburg promoter. “People want connection, energy, and impact — and we’re delivering all three.”

Guests will experience:

• Live music from party powerhouse Funktion on the UPMC Stage
• Signature cocktails, craft beer, and wine
• Heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts from The JDK Group Catering & Events
• Photo ops, VIP areas, and interactive stations
• A curated silent auction featuring local experiences and goods

“Support from this event directly helps us save lives,” said Tony Reigle, Chief of Harrisburg River Rescue. “We’re so grateful to be part of an event that not only raises vital funds but celebrates community.”

Guests can book a discounted room at Hilton Harrisburg, which includes Sunday brunch at Ad Lib Craft Kitchen + Bar.

Berry Bash is anticipated to become a new signature event for Strawberry Square, joining the successful Plants + Pints festival, which highlights plant-based food and drink while raising funds for Downtown Daily Bread. Both events are produced in collaboration with Harristown Enterprises and Sara Bozich.
