Central Penn College Partners with Milton Hershey School and Hershey Employers to Give Career Search Guidance

Summerdale, Pa. – (August 6, 2024) Central Penn College’s career development experts taught recent Milton Hershey graduates and parent-sponsors how to ace an interview, craft a compelling resume, network with employers and other timely tips as they executed a first-time-ever partnership that students called “enjoyable,” “exceptional,” “worthwhile” and “valuable.”

The intensive, three-week program was offered to eight recent graduates of Milton Hershey School and four parent sponsors who were seeking higher-level career direction. They met in Central Penn College classrooms every weekday for two hours. That instruction was supplemented every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon as representatives from The Hershey Company, Hershey Entertainment and Resorts, Catherine Hershey School of Learning, and Penn State Health presented insightful tips and job openings to the students, conducted one-on-one meetings, and held true-to-life mock interviews.

Steve Hassinger, Director of the Center for Career Services and Development at Central Penn College, was proud to report that one of the 12 students did not complete the program because she achieved the ultimate goal:  she was hired on Day 9 of the sessions.

Curtis Voelker, Executive Director of College Relations at Central Penn College, said he looks forward to conducting this results-oriented, career-focused training often to other recent graduates.
