Central Penn College’s Provost/Vice-President Elected to Leadership Role on Multi-State Physical Therapy Board
Krista Wolfe, Central Penn College’s Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
Dr. Wolfe was elected as the Region 3 Director at the organization’s annual meeting in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The federation is comprised of 53 jurisdictions across the United States.
Wolfe is the voting delegate for the PA State Board of Physical Therapy, where she has served for four years. She has worked at Central Penn College since 2006, beginning as the Director of the Physical Therapist Assistant program and ascending to the role of Vice-President and Provost in 2020.
As a Director, Dr. Wolfe will help guide the Federation's strategic initiatives and ensure that operations align with its mission. Key responsibilities include governance and oversight, strategic planning, financial stewardship, committee liaison, and stakeholder engagement.

Wolfe said she is committed to innovation, integrity and accountability, and reflects upon her progress in the past decade, which began with her writing items for the national physical therapy examination.
Dr. Wolfe holds a B.S. degree in Health Science/Athletic Training from Slippery Rock University, where she also earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy. After graduation, she earned a postgraduate certificate in health care education from Washburn University, Topeka, KS.
Dr. Wolfe also continues as a practicing clinician at Inspired Physical Therapy in the Mechanicsburg area.
Prior to coming to Central Penn College, Dr. Wolfe worked full-time as a physical therapist for more than four years. She joined Central Penn College in 2006 where she held the positions of Director of the Physical Therapist Assistant program, Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, and Dean of Applied Sciences. Dr. Wolfe became Central Penn College’s vice president and provost in May 2020. In this role, Dr. Wolfe serves as chief academic officer of the college, providing strategic and operational leadership for all academic programs and overseeing the Office of Academic Affairs while maintaining the accreditation of the College.
Dr. Wolfe also has served as a member of the FSBPT, located in Alexandria, Virginia, since 2015.
She started as a member of the Exam Development Committee and then became a co-chair of the committee for three years and now serves as a member of the Finance Committee for the Federation.
Dr. Wolfe also serves on the PA Department of Health’s Access to Care Committee, and COVID-19 Health Equity Response Team. She has been a board member of the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy since 2021, appointed by Governor Tom Wolf and then Governor Josh Shapiro.
Dr. Wolfe resides in the Carlisle area with her husband and son.
