The CommunityAid Foundation Announces ‘Neighbors Helping Neighbors Art Contest’

Mechanicsburg, PA – CommunityAid, which operates seven thrift stores and donation centers across Pennsylvania, today announced the 2024 CommunityAid Foundation “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” Art Contest, inviting artists to showcase their creativity and contribute to a community-driven initiative.

Artists of all ages are encouraged to download the CommunityAid-provided template and use their imagination to develop an original illustration based on the following statement: “What Neighbors Helping Neighbors means to me.” Once completed, participants can upload a photo or scan of their artwork using the form on the contest landing page at artcontest.communityaid.org. All information must be accurately completed on the submission form by August 18, 2024, to be considered.

A winner and a runner-up in each age group (listed below) will be determined by the number of votes received during the online voting period. The winning artwork for each age group will be printed on drawstring backpacks, available for purchase at CommunityAid stores while supplies last.

“This contest allows us to highlight the incredible talent within the communities we support and reinforces our mission of neighbors helping neighbors,” said Matthew Healy, Director of Marketing for CommunityAid. “By including community members in this creative initiative, we strengthen the bonds that make our work so impactful.”

• 5–8 years
• 9–12 years
• 13–17 years
• 18 years and up

Important Dates:

• Submission Period: August 5-18, 2024
• Online Voting: August 21-September 2, 2024
• Winners Announced: September 17, 2024

Prizes (per age group):

Winner:

• $100 CommunityAid gift card
• $100 Target gift card
• Two drawstring backpacks featuring the winner’s artwork

Runner-Up:

• $50 CommunityAid gift card
• One drawstring backpack of their choice from the four winning designs
