Friends of Clarks Ferry Tavern Achieves Full Funding For Restoration Project Through TFEC's "Together We Take Action" Program
HARRISBURG, PA (July 24, 2024)—The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) proudly announces the full funding of the Friends of Clarks Ferry Tavern project through its "Together We Take Action" program. This grant will significantly aid in the restoration of the historic Clarks Ferry Tavern and promote heritage, recreation, culture and eco-tourism in the region.
“When another donor reviews and chooses projects to support, it provides more than the finances necessary to complete a project. It demonstrates agreement, support and validation for all the sweat equity being poured into our project,” said Christie Caswell, vice president and chief executive officer of the Friends of Clarks Ferry Tavern, when expressing her gratitude for the program. “We are grateful for the 'shot in the arm' from those who see our project and have chosen to support it!”
The funding was made possible through a generous donation by Dave and Linda Kutz. Reflecting on their contribution, they stated, "We supported the Clarks Ferry Tavern because we believe their project will have a long-term educational, historical and economic impact on Linda’s hometown of Duncannon and Perry County in general."
The "Together We Take Action" program, which initially ran throughout June, will return in August to continue connecting donors with partially funded grant requests from nonprofits in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Perry and York counties.
