Harrisburg, PA (April 4, 2025) – On April 28, The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region will honor Harrisburg native, two-time Super Bowl winner, six-time Pro Bowler, and Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Famer LeSean “Shady” McCoy with the “Celebration of Transformation” Award at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania, during their annual community event.

Featuring an evening of inspiration and football fun, businesses, families, and sports teams are welcome. Doors open at 5:00 PM for networking and football activities, followed by a 6:00 PM dinner and presentations.

Allie Berube, abc27 Sports Director, will host a Fireside Chat with LeSean as fans learn more about his transformative journey from local high school football player to NFL superstar, businessman, sports broadcaster, and philanthropist.

LeSean’s life story is an inspiration to all of us and a reminder that with big dreams, hard work, and perseverance, anything is possible.” Driven by his service to others, LeSean has been uplifting socially and economically challenged at-risk youth through his “Shades of Greatness” Foundation for the past 15 years. In addition to his business and charity work, LeSean is the co-host for Fox Sport 1’s “The Facility” Daily Studio Show.

Lisa Herbert, volunteer extraordinaire and Harrisburg’s Coats for Kids program creator, will be honored with the “Others Award,” The Salvation Army’s highest award recognizing an individual, family, or organization for an extraordinary spirit of service to others, not only through support of The Salvation Army, but in the broader community as well.

“Lisa is a dedicated and inspiring supporter of The Salvation Army, whose contributions have made a profound impact on those we serve. Each year, Lisa has led an incredibly meaningful initiative providing over 2,000 brand-new winter coats to children in need. Lisa plays a crucial role in our largest fundraising event, Shoe Strut, and supports our Corps year-round by decorating our spaces to create an environment of hope and warmth. She is a steadfast advocate for our staff, always going above and beyond to lift their spirits, ease their burdens, and provide the support they need to continue their work.
