The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region is collecting new school supplies to help local children head back to school with the tools they need to succeed.

Community members can support the drive in three easy ways:

• Donate new school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, calculators, earbuds, and other classroom essentials.
• Shop the Amazon Wish List, with donations shipped directly to The Salvation Army.
• Give online to help provide back-to-school clothing for local students. A gift of $40 provides a clothing voucher for one child.

The public is also invited to the Shop & Drop event on Saturday, July 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Walmart, 6520 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg. WINK 104 Wake-Up Show host Sue Campbell will be on-site from 10:00 a.m. to noon, and visitors can enter to win concert tickets while supporting local children.

School supply donations may also be dropped off through Friday, August 7, at The Salvation Army, 506 S. 29th Street, Harrisburg, weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Every donation helps ensure children in our community are prepared and confident as they begin the new school year.
