The Salvation Army Harrisburg to Host “Celebration of Harrisburg” Luncheon Honoring 140 Years of Service

The Salvation Army Harrisburg will host The Celebration of Harrisburg Luncheon on April 23, 2026, at The Hershey Lodge. The event will bring together community leaders, historians, and supporters for networking, lunch, entertainment, and a special panel discussion highlighting local history and The Salvation Army’s 140 years of service to the Harrisburg community.

The luncheon will feature a distinguished panel of local leaders and historians, including:

  • Calobe Jackson Jr., Local Historian
  • David Morrison, Historic Harrisburg Association
  • Dave Schankweiler, Founder, Journal Multimedia
  • Toni Lynn Mark, The Salvation Army Harrisburg

A highlight of the program will be the presentation of The Salvation Army’s prestigious “Others” Award to Valerie Pritchett, news anchor at abc27 News, in recognition of her commitment to serving others and strengthening the region.

In addition, sponsors will have the opportunity to submit an individual for induction into the event’s “History-Makers Hall of Fame", recognizing those who are leaving a lasting legacy for future generations in the region.

Networking and displays will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch and the program at 11:30 a.m.
