Tonia Leitzel Ulsh of Mountz Jewelers Recognized with 2025 Women United Outstanding Volunteer Service Award
CARLISLE, PA - United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County is pleased to announce Tonia Leitzel Ulsh as the recipient of the 2025 Women United Outstanding Volunteer Service Award. The award recognizes a member of Women United who has provided outstanding service and leadership to her community.
Tonia was recognized at the Women United Annual Luncheon in May held at the Dickinson College Stern Center, sponsored by Kelso Law. Lisa Thomas, vice-president of the United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County’s Board of Directors, introduced Tonia and presented her with the award.
Tonia is President, COO, and Co-Owner of Mountz Jewelers, overseeing the daily operations of the three Mountz locations in Central Pennsylvania. She has served on numerous non-profit boards, currently serving on the board of directors of Jewelers of America and The Salvation Army of Harrisburg Capital Region. She is a member of the United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County’s Alexis De Tocqueville Society and of Legatus, and also volunteers for Midwest Food Bank and Saint Patrick School in Carlisle.
Tonia has been a committed volunteer for United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County for 35 years, in a variety of capacities. She was an active volunteer for United Way’s annual campaign for many years, and co-chaired the campaign in 2013 with Brian Bittinger. As a member of the Tocqueville Society, she has been a passionate advocate for United Way in the community, and with Mountz has been an incredibly generous and committed sponsor of a variety of United Way events over the years.
The mission of Women United is “to improve the lives of women and children in the greater Carlisle community. Through fundraising events, service projects and social opportunities we will mobilize the caring power of women.” Women United members all donate a minimum of $500 to the United Way’s annual campaign.
